So, who's next to be Waterboarded?

American legal history has always treated this as torture, and has prosecuted people for doing it. That is fact. Interviews with insurgents and detainees going through rehabilitation reveals that there were many who joined because we tortured, making the policy one that put our soldiers in greater peril. This is fact. Given these facts, it is beyond me how someone can support such an immoral action in defense of a nation that is based on the rights of man and the rule of law.

Like fine wine...

It's ALIVE! ALIVE!!!

1978

Perhaps a dying race encoded their memories and personalities into this planet, and also created bio mechanical vessels or avatars that survived ecologic/nuclear disaster, they then would ensure some form of their civilization to continue.

Creating A Fascinating Mess

...I purchased a Terminator "Apocalyptic Ice" slurpee yesterday and it was a fascinating mess. Think Orange Crush meets Peeps meets Circus Peanuts.

There were many moments during the ice cold intake when I felt the it was reaching for true greatness, and it was going somewhere amazing. And then those moments, inexorably, slurped away...

Faux Noize

I wish I could go on some of these shows and smash down the neo-con tin man talking points. I love watching Ventura take a wrecking ball to stuffed suits like Hannity.

But, hey Neocons, keep telling yourself your own version of history…

Like Samuel L. Jackson's character at the end of the movie Unbreakable, you become aware, only after the fact, of the disgraceful role that you were destined to play.

You will come to realize that you are history's bad guy. Like the McCarthyites or the brownshirts, you will serve both as a symbol of shame and a warning to future generations. You truly are special people…

MEMORANDUM!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090518/pl_afp/usiraqpoliticsreligionrumsfeld_20090518141801

MEMORANDUM: The Lord is a man of war, people!

I'm guessing that Rumsfeld didn't make heavy use of passages like:

Matthew 5:39 ("But I tell you not to resist an evildoer. On the contrary, whoever slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.")

Or
Luke 6:35 ("Rather, love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind even to ungrateful and evil people.")

and

Matthew 26:52 (Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.)

Shit like this is pretty much the only reason I would WANT to believe in the Christian mythology. Assholes like Rumsfeld, Bush, Cheney and others like Falwell and Robertson, would roast on a spit in the bowels of Hell.

The more that comes out, the more you realize our country was being run by insane people with a god complex and the intelligence and wisdom of a 5 year old. I take that back…there are a lot of SMART 5 year olds.

Neocons…
Believing that Jesus will prove that they were right…

LOST Season Five Finale

Here is the final scene of the final episode of season five of LOST: Plane lands. Camera catches sight of our key players, including the now-defunct ones from past seasons. Inspirational music plays in the background. The last three years of their lives erased from time itself. And then…they catch glimpses of each other and feel some sort of familiarity and thud…cut to LOST.

Think about it…they could go in any direction for the final season BUT I think they still need to answer the following…

* Jacob
* The monsters motivations + Islands…if different.
* The Dharma Initiative’s goal/objective.
* Locke's status
* Jacks Dad's ghost....probably not the monster, as he is seen in Jacobs hut.
* Richard's history.
* The numbers

It's horrible to think that next year at this time; I will have 6 years of random, useless knowledge about this show floating around in my head. How many brain cells have been devoted to the many connections you have to make in order to understand Lost? Will I be 50 and still know this junk? Could I have maybe learned something productive in that time, like astrophysics or neurology?

Until then, Torches are lit. TV's set on fire…

Lost being over with makes my eyes rain.

Peace, DAG!

In Spite...

What an improbably small chance in a universe filled with improbably small chances that I, or you, should exist at all.

And still, we find ourselves alive in spite of everything.

Everything is amazing.

Not sure...

Dominos Pasta DUDE!

...that this is what Kool Herc had in mind.

Pygmy

So, journalistic integrity is dead? I wish that were news.

It’s all part of this persistent myth that somehow our own way of life is the pinnacle of human achievement…and the related myth of a more violent past allows us to justify whatever social Darwinism still exists in our own society.

Do Some Amazing

Try not to judge the artist by their art. They are different things. Love the nuanced and balanced nature of the human psyche. Most metaphors are best when they aren’t obvious.

What Rough Beast

If you like all those old style monster magazines, b-movies and pulp with the likes of Lugosi, King Kong, and Godzilla, you will dig this. “Shambling”, is a cautionary tale that is required reading for anyone who values deep moral insight embedded within a hilarious satire. An awesome and quick read…
