Fun Again!

Let’s make Nihilism fun again. We need to bring out our angsty best. Make the most disgusting words beautiful. Creativity sometimes comes from without instead of within. All the effort in the world won't matter if you're not inspired. In your mind you have complete privacy. Here there's no difference between what is and what could be. But remember…It's easy to attack and destroy an act of creation. It's a lot more difficult to perform one.

1-13!

Jingle Bell ROCKED!

I heard the BESTest version of Jingle Bells this morning via the 1st graders of C.R.A. I had no idea they could elevate such a tried and true tune. Bravo! PS. Elektra's hair is LONG.

As-Santa's Letter

Kelli and I took Elektra to see the South Towne Mall Santa the other night. Elektra told me that she wanted to write him a letter as well as go over her Christmas list with him. What you see here is THE letter. When she showed me this I responded with "Do you want to do it again on and bigger piece of paper?". Elektra liked it the way it was and Kelli gave me the "Awesome" smile. I hope "AS-Santa" has some thick skin.

Pro/Con?

I can't tell if this is serious or a joke? either way...DAMN funny. I assume that they are in the oval office or something since Abe and Washington have "hats in hand". Nice touch with that little "Statue Of Liberty" at the bottom left. DAG!

Fine Line

I can understand where they're coming from a little, but there's a fine line between trying to show support for a friend and defending acts that are morally indefensible.

The Sneak

Most people you try to sneak away from, they don't want you to be enlightened. They want to know what to expect. You cannot be the person they know and the great, glorious person you want to become. Not at the same time. The difference between how people see themselves and how they really look is enough to kill most people.

FANDOMness

OK. Morgan Spurlock is DOPE and he is pissing A LOT of people off. The word is…in his new film…He FOUND Osama Bin Laden??? His agent (or someone) is referring to this project as “The Holy Grail”. Can you imagine if this is true? ALL the $ being pumped into “Homeland Security” and a film maker actually finds him and interviews him...I think it’s playing up at Sundance this year.

Ray Park as Snake Eyes? Works for me…because he doesn’t even have to say…one fucking word!

This is THE film to see in ‘08. Can it top “Begins”…so far the BUZZ is living up to the hype.

‘Ironman’ looks good. Let’s hope that stale dialog and insipid chatter doesn’t ruin it. STICK to the story Marvel.

Giving Him The Business!

SHOGUN

Identify some fallacy in life. Make fun of it by exploring and unpacking...this is just why I'm sort of automatically thrown to be a certain way. It’s honest and people admire that. They can see themselves in that kind of really brutal honesty. They see a sort of permission to acknowledge a part of themselves that they've been in denial about for most of their lives. Your life is nothing if not a slippery slope.

Things I Rock...

Assassins Creed: So far a clairvoyant experience. Ambitious and beautiful.

The Immortal Iron Fist: A CLASSIC in the making. This is the BEST comic on the shelves currently. Pick up a trade if you can get one, I'm not kidding it is THAT good.

"Daniel", "Gary" & "Sade": New instrumental tracks by Fischer. These will be new Rotten Songs but I am NOT revealing the "REAL" titles or anything. The journey is the reward.

Yo Gabba Gabba: There is nothing quite like doing "The Puppetmaster" with Elektra.

My NEW DAGOBOX: My 2 gig Nano pushed up da' daises BUT the good peeps at Best Buy honored my service agreement and I got one of those 8 gig VIDEO ones. It's fresh to death. Now, if only we could start those PODcasts we always wanted to do. Arcade something or other? That's right, Shanty! I'm talking to you.

Black Shirts: I was a ninja in a previous life. I just love them.

Craigslist: BABA GANOOSH is still relevant. Use your mind like a mirror: accept all, reflect all. Receive, but do not keep.

Jay-Z "American Gangster": Doing what he has done before, What he does best. The more you listen to it, the more powerful it becomes.

Thanksgiving: Exposing the MYTHS enjoy (I'm still down with Pumpkin Pie!) http://hnn.us/articles/406.html

Obama: Kucinich is a close second but I dig this guys honesty...http://www.rawstory.com/news/mochila/Obama_I_tried_drugs_as_a_teen_11202007

The Page

The idea that this fantasy life on the page can be so much more exciting and fulfilling than real life can ever be. On the page you can do things that are impossible in the world, because the world is so regulated and structured anymore. On the page you can make those mistakes and have those adventures. I just get a little worried that I'll stop having those “real” world adventures. And I won't even bother with the physical world because the fake world is so much nicer, so much more satisfying.

Childhood Parts 1 & 2

A childhood is full of great defining stories, these moments in which you make enormous decisions about how the world is and how you will be in reaction to that world for the rest of your life. And you forget that you did that. You just become that reaction, but you can't remember why you became that.

The moment when you make that that decision and become that reaction is freeing. Suddenly you have the choice of either being that thing that you've always chosen to be, or being something totally different that's not a reaction to the fact that no one showed up to one of your birthday parties. You're free from that tragedy of the past. You don't have to be a reaction for the rest of your life.

Believe The Hype!

Music: The show of the year and possible my life is upon us. Tomorrow night in Park City, Numbs is rocking the spot with…PUBLIC ENEMY. Chuck D is the reason that I started rhyming, period. I remember my Sony Walkman on 24/7 through High School bumping “It Takes A Nation Of Millions”. On the flyer it says that they will be playing a 3 hour set. 3 hours! WHAT? I have a hard time with my voice pushing an hour. Listening to the Rhyme Animal for 180 minutes is going to be EPIC!

After this gig, the Numbs live piece is going to be shut down until 08’. We need to focus on recording and getting some new tunes out there. Not what has been done, but what remains to be done.

Rotten Musicians are back in the studio. We have recorded three songs so far and should have another three done before the end of the year. I think Fisch wants to put out like a 8-9 song project. At this rate, Spring/Summer 08’ should see another Rotten disc.

Because of my group commitments my solo jawn is taking a bit to get to. I got some BURNERS from Fisch that should help cultivate my themes and ideas for this EP. I shouldn't’t let what I can’t do interfere with what I can.

Work: I am a part of “The Working Dead”? Is the main requirement of my job just being there? Do I get paid to do nothing all day? Some people might think that this is paradise. The air-conditioned office, the cubicle tailored with their edgy calendars and comfy nick knacks, the trivial gossip, etc. Some people have accepted this and would most likely not to have it any other way. Many jobs lack creativity. This is really no way to work, or to live.

CRE decided to get me some help finally. Where I was in total control of over 1050 trucks now there are three of us. The refuge of people who have nothing better to do.

MISC: Elektra’s 7th birthday is this Sunday. Seven…she is seven! She is the best part of me. The last seven years have shown me what really matters. I guess when the apple is ripe, it will fall…I cannot stop her from growing up, as much as I want to. Maybe I am faking my adulthood.

We are going to Disneyland for her Birthday. The Three Caballeros…E, Me and K. Elektra still has NO IDEA. She told me to plan her party and so I did. It’s going to be CLASSIC to see her reaction when we spring it on her at the airport. I’ll try and get some VID of it and post it on here.

I got a Snowboard set up for the season. Kelli and myself are going to RULE the ‘Chickadee” @ Snowbird on Wednesday nights (It’s free Nukka!). I got the following for around $250 (Lamar Boots. Salomon Pulse 152 & Rome 390 Bindings). I’m ready to hit that pow pow brah so line up the rails, it’s time to party.

Peace-DAG!
