Minutemen! Lost Season 4 Finale.

Check out this picture of the Minutemen from the Watchmen movie that drops in 09' Fresh Ta Def! It gives me a GREAT idea for my Halloween costume this year. I found the Peanuts pic as well, tight huh? C-Brown used that one lock of hair for something.

The Lost Season Four finale is tonight and I have FOUR things that I think we will see...

1) Ben is the person in the coffin.

2) One of the Losties left behind WILL meet/greet someone from the Oceanic 6 in the future. Something like Claire (if shes not dead) bumping into Jack off island in the future.
3) We learn that Baby Aaron is "Jacob" and needs to be returned to the island (crackpot theory at it's bestest).
4) Marvin Candle a.k.a Hallowax a.k.a Wickman will make an appearance in or via The Orchid.

I'm sticking to it...

You are inspired creatively, artistically, or spiritually at this time. Your imagination, intuition, and psychic sensitivity are high now, and you find yourself wanting to paint or listen to music, daydream, or fantasize rather than concentrate on practical matters.

Sex, Lies And...

I picked up "Snuff", Chuck Palahniuk's latest novel. I'm on chapter five and so far as expected, literary PORN mayhem. Another metaphor about things people can't talk about openly? I think so...but this time not so much about the horror of the body, a revolt against consumerism and regeneration through violence. Or maybe it is?

YEE!

I’m a proud daddy yet again. Elektra has started writing songs. I decided to post some of the works (lyrics) on here. She’s got some fire…

“Play The Movie Now”
Play The Movie
Today Just Play The Movie
I Want To Go See A Movie
Movie Is All I Need
Let’s See A Movie Now

“I Am Hungry”
What Is That It Is My Tummy
What Is That It Is Yummy
I Am Hungry
I Want Pizza With Spaghetti On Top
Fish Is Ok
I Am Hungry

“I Want To Go To School”
School Is Cool School Is Fun
I Can’t Wait For School
School Is Fun
My Teacher Says It’s Ok To Make Mistakes
That Shows We’re Learning
There’s Friends To Make Here
School Is Fun

“Yee”
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee, Yee
My Favorite Sound Is Yee

…I could see some of these on the Soundtrack of “Juno 2”.

Wonder...

Do you have fascination with wonder? We are taught instead to decide. To decide is to kill off all possibilities but one. A good innovational thinker is always exploring the many other possibilities. Knowing what you’re good at and doing even more of it creates excellence. You cannot have innovation, unless you are willing and able to move through the unknown and go from curiosity to wonder.

Invincible Fraction!

Marvel gets a new Iron Man series that people will actually read. I have little doubt that Invincible Iron Man #1 will pull in plenty of new readers. It should have no trouble retaining them either.

For all intents and purposes, Invincible #1 seems to be the seminal Tony Stark issue. Nearly every facet of his life, from women to booze to technology to S.H.I.E.L.D., is given proper and loving attention, and each is handled masterfully. I should give mention to the Iron Man movie because this issue seems to pay homage to that interpretation of the character. This Tony Stark seems like a reasonable evolution of that, in a move that I'm sure was orchestrated to nab movie-goers interested in the character. It's a smart move and the issue reads wonderfully. Fraction once again proves his superhero creative mettle.

Ezekiel Stane (son of Flynn errr Obadiah) is Tony Stark's baddie this time around, and I must say Zeke's appearance here does a lot to endear him as a viable character. Yes, he's a psychopath, but he's evil in a fun sort of way.

Invincible Iron Man is everything an Iron Man book should be. It's got a large-scale, widescreen feel to it and pulls from exactly the right sources. Accessible to new readers but rewarding to longtime fans, it's a very promising beginning to what will undoubtedly be a successful run.

PS. Dago & Fraction seen above @ Black Cats Comics in the SLC (5/10/08-pic taken by the lovely K).

Sneaker Pimp

I had my wallet stolen this weekend. I left it out at work and some joker decided to take it. I only work with about ten people on my shift. I trust most of them but I’m afraid of those closet moralists.

People are like stained glass windows…they shimmer and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed.

I’ve realized that most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a parody, their passions a quote or bumper sticker propaganda.

I got the wallet back after a day minus the cash. Enjoy your instant karma. Fate is what your meant to be, Destiny is what in turn you make with what you are. Don’t get it twisted. Big thanks to the good peeps at CRE and K for helping me through my point of no return panic.

Haven

Relaxation, enjoyment, and pleasure are emphasized now. This is not a time to push yourself or be involved in activities that require intense competition or a great expenditure of energy. Cooperative, harmonious personal and professional relationships are more important to you at this time. You feel like socializing and being friendly.

Is this a coincidence that there will be FIVE new Numbs songs finished by the end of May? "Act Up" aka "Numbnuts", "Wont' Soon Forget", "Is That Wrong?", "The Bank Job" & "Lights, Camera, Action".

I went to Wendover last night with K & Lucia and lost a Benjamin'...sucks huh? Easy come, Easy go...the B52's out there are AMAZING. I recommend at least two to the dome.

I AM...

Rarely can a movie make me feel that nostalgia like Slurpee's, stand up arcade games and Schwinn stingrays. In 2008, Iron Man is THAT movie. I like comic books. I love the mythos involved with them. Sometimes though the translation from panels in the pages get lost when they move to the big screen. For me, most of these movies are hit and miss. Spiderman 1 & 2...hits. Spidey 3...miss. The first two X-Mens…pretty great. The 3rd…a HUGE suckfest. Don’t EVEN get me started about The Punisher or Elektra…blah. I have ALWAYS been an Iron Man fan. Since I was a kid, he was in the top five of hero's I would play as I would run around the city blocks hunting down injustice. The movie, “Iron Man” is quick witted and really well acted (The entire cast gets props). Jon Favreau keeps the special effects in the service of the characters and doesn't go overboard. I could have used more Iron Monger last act…minus the stale and insipid back and forth between Stark and Flynn…I mean, Jeff Bridges. The fight and flight scenes are terrific and Downey IS Iron Man. I have to see this in the theatre at least one more time and I’m curious to see what they will do next time around, Armor Wars anyone? This could be a great franchise if they keep the sequels as fresh and fast as this one was.
