That's Riz-Ite! CD release party this Friday @ Ego's! I will link the SL Weekly when it hits (tomorrow?). BTW...I got the new Kanye West CD...yeah...I was going into it thinking it would be decent. I was wrong. It is a great listen! Is political, concious "rap" making a comeback? (I.E. Public Enemy)...I hope so cause lately I've been BORED as hell.

Like I said before I've been hurting for about a week now. I have had two friends pass away in the last week. I did a post on Blake (Riot) last Thursday. Another true homie, Chris Green, passed away on Saturday, August 20th. He was 23. I grew up with this kid in South Provo. He lived in the same apartment complex as me. In Provo...we spent alot of time playing video games and listening to rap music. I saw him about a month ago driving his scooter through dowtown SLC. He had that usual optimistic smirk on his face as I was yelling out of my car at him. He was a very thoughtful individual and I miss him. I have sunk back into my escapism of video games trying to cope with all of this...my PSP has been with me NONSTOP. it still doesn't seem real to me.
Every year the SL City Weekly puts out their Grammy type of award called the Slammy (Salt Lake & Grammy, Get it?). One of the music groups I'm in...Numbs...has won the "Best Hip Hop" category 3 of the last 4 years. This year (since we have done nuttin') we wern't even on the ballot. It was good seeing Expression take it home since they hustle their ISHT well...Fackts came in a close second. Actually...all the groups involved are GOOD KIDS. DJ Shanty came in #2 for "Best DJ"...Shawn Murphy is still NUMBER 1 in my book. DJ Knuklez is cool though. But check this...The Salt Lake Weekly reviewed "Make A Face" as one of the 50 best local CD's that has come out in the last 12 months. Here is what they said "An immaculately layered and insidiously catchy hip-hop funhouse ride that kicks off with a hysterical shout-out montage, the Rotten Musicians debut is more than just a Numbs side project...it's an instant local classic. Remember, they invented Sissy Rap". I've been out of sorts for about a week now so it felt good reading this. Randy Harward of the Weekly also did an Interview on the Rotten Musicians today and the story will run on 9/1. I will link it when it hits.

A friend if mine passed away on Thursday. He and 3 other associates got trapped in an abandoned mine in Provo, Ut. All four of them drowned. This is really tragic...I appreciated his honesty and he was one of the nicest and REAL people I've come across (that's saying alot when you growup in Provo). I went thru some hard times about 4 years ago and he was VERY supportive of my efforts of getting my life back on track. That is one thing that I will never forget. I miss the days of Uprok in Provo. Hanging out with Gunnar and Blake...Thursday was a sad day.

Ok...I went down to Provo again yesterday...met up with Rick, Gunnar, Tober & Kavika @ the Island Style Tattoo. They had alot of KIND words about the Rotten disc. To me, their feedback means alot...these are guys that I have been hangin' with and/or doing music with since literally high school. Rick gave me a CD of Instrumentals for new Numbs songs. There are several Burners on there. Gunnar said he was going to start and write to them...we need to get moving on the new Numbs project. The Musicians have a show on Saturday down at the Eagles Lodge in Provo. More later...I gotta go and pick up Elektra.

Dont stop believin' Hold On To The Feelin' Streetlight People...Facts aka Mr Know It All got me my Journey fix...it's in the deck right now. Oh yeah...I broke down and picked up a PSP! Now...I was skeptical at first but DAMN it is SWEET! I'm rockin' "Brotherhood Of The Blade" right now...my 7th level druid has a plus 12 bastard axe...So, in the immortal word's of Steve Perry, who's cryin' now?

Space 1999? What the hell is this all about? I took a ride down from Salt Lake to Provo (45 mins south) this morning with my Mom and Elektra. We stopped by and had lunch with my brother who is pimping the Rotten Musicians show on the 20th. Which incidentally is the same day as Ferragosto (www.italiancenterutah.com). I'll be taking a long lunch from work that day. I also saw my Grandma, my Neice and Nephew today. I stopped by Island Style tattoo to check in on the boys as well. I grew up in Provo and at times it can feel like a comfortable old pair of sneakers like it did this afternoon. It was good seeing Gunnar, Kavika, Tober and the gang. It sucks we don't get to hang out as much anymore...I miss it.

Ok...I came across this on the net. This picture was taken today in Salt Lake City, Ut between 10:00am-11:30am. it was taken around the Sandy area (Wasatch Drive & 12300 south). The person who put this up states that this is either a UFO or some type of aircraft spraying our skies. The process is known as "Chemtrail"...google that and see what you find. It's not good. I'm always up for a good conspiracy theory...hell, I still think man has NEVER landed on the moon. Enjoy.
Dan Marino in his prime. I wasted many a Sunday afternoon as an altar boy and couch potato watching football. When I was younger I would get REALLY upset when the Dolphins lost (still do) and at one point my Mom told me she wasn't go to let me watch anymore if I kept it up...It's nice being an adult and having your own TV to cry and mope in front of.
"Laces Out Dan!"...as many of you know I am a HARDCORE Miami Dolphins fan. It really doesn't make any sense...born in New Jersey and raised in Utah. I have been to Florida a bunch of times but I have never been to Miami. My cousin Rob in Jersey got me hooked on the Phins and I never looked back. Marino was inducted into the Hall Of Fame yesterday. I wasn't able to make the teal and orange pilgrimage to Canton, Ohio...BUT thanks to the Net, Comcast Broadband and Google...It felt like I was there. Marino is/was the best quarterback ever (take that you haters)...besides all of his NFL accolades, his performance in "Ace Ventura" made him a first ballot hall of famer..easy. Not to mention his Isotoner glove ads.

We got the disc back today....we recorded the first song for this (Famous Burgers) last year on the 10th of August. At that time it was just a song...not an LP, a side project or a new group. I'm VERY proud of this effort and I hope peeps enjoy it. I'm lucky that i get to work with such talented individuals that I can actually call my closest friends...time to flip these MO FO's like flapjacks! Oh yeah...we have 2 shows in the next 2 days (www.myspace.com/rottenmusicians).
